Bitter, battered
Shedding my skin

Bitter, battered
Bruised and bleeding,

Shredded and scattered skin
Cast off, rejected, reborn

Red of dawn and birth
Renewed once more

Shadows thrown away,
No longer needed
No longer wanted

I stand anew.
